Setting up a corporate mail server / corporate mail delivery system


Thinking of improving the efficiency of your corporate mail delivery system?

You will need to the following to setup your corporate mail server system:


1. Add a network card to every system.
2. Get a network switch.
3. Get UTP CAT5 cabling done from the location of your switch above to every system in your office environment. This would normally be in the range of $80-$120 if the nodes are less than 15-20 meters apart and are not on multiple levels.
4. Get a DSL or cable modem with built-in router.
5. Apply for broadband service from your local service provider. In Singapore for a 256k unlimited access, the cost is around $200-$300 monthly. Check with us if you need more info.
6. Register a dot com domain. Country-level domain e.g. a .com.sg would be more costly at around $80 per year. We are the authorised reseller for .sg domains and are able to offer competitive registration. Contact us for details.
7. Select and setup a mail server from list of those available – Lotus Domino, Microsoft Exchange, etc.
8. Setup office mail if you need. Office mail is similar to digital Post-It notes, utilized only within your office environment.
9. Dispose of those modems that you previously use for Internet access or attach 2 of them to your server, get 2 phone lines, get a fax server software and let it function as a fax server solution.
