List of Known Bad IP Address Block

The following are list of IP addresses that are known source of spam. They are usually DSL or dialup range that spammers like to use for sending their junk.

Most of it are dynamic IP blocks with infected machines that are not aware that their systems are sending out spam for the spammers.

One alternative instead of directly blocking these range of addresses, would be to redirect all incoming connections to your server from source ports below 10000, to a different server and then do a more aggressive filtering or making it into a spam folder for the recipient's account. I may be wrong but I would thought that any incoming connection below the above range would normally be from Windows machines (either workstations or servers) connecting to the Internet via dialup/DSL/leased line direct connections.

You could then admend the list to cater for false positives and incorrect filtering.

It won't work for machines behind a NAT router because after the tranlation, their connection to your mail server will be from a high port range.

A bunch the spammers mess up their own code and now infected machines are sending out spam using some default email names like those tirades, handcuff, boozes, debauchedsluggishly, spryerboozes, wriggliest, etc which would definitely not get through unless the domain itself has its catch-all email address enabled.

It could also be they are justing testing for domains that have catchall mail accounts.

Soon after, some of it are updated (most likely a critical update) to giftspagoda, 2d3f24ac while others remains the same hiting on the above email names.

A proof that these spammers are using spywares and viruses to infect machines and then use them to send out spams and control your system for their own selfish means. Thus there is no concern about bandwidth cost for spamming because the users of the infected machines are bearing it. He is the same chap that is sending all those emails with Re[ followed by random number ] as subject. This same chap is probably involve in the ebay phishing too since their mailer that they use is almost always some software call The Bat!.

Spammers have no friends, that is why they do not feel any problem doing any or all of the above.
